May 16 By Andrea Kang Topic:Catholic singles learn the art of communication at tea partyAbout 50 catholic singles shared stories, dance, ate and drank the afternoon away on Apr 30 at a tea party organised by Adeline Ng. Held at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour (OLPS), the event was aimed at bringing catholic singles together.
Guest speakers, Jean , image consultant and Dr Mark Robson, corporate consultant, enlightened many participants on issues such as personality types, point dressing, body language, psychology of men and women, and the art of communication.
When asked to share on their worries in a relationship, the fear to communicate was top on majority’s list. Dr Robson said that in order to communicate effectively and without fear in a relationship, couples must first spend time alone with themselves to realise their talents and gifts.
“Knowing yourself, paying attention to how and what you say, respecting boundaries and asking permission”, is the key to good communication, he said.
Ability to communicate and god-fearing were among the top ideal characteristics that participants look for in a life partner. Many said they would prefer a Catholic spouse because firstly, they believe that Christ should be the center of all marriages and secondly, so that their children would have a proper religious education, instead of growing up confused.
With their catholic circle widened, participants look forward to more interactive activities at future tea parties. May 12 By Dr Mark ( Chiro & Business Consultant )The Art of Relating was the theme of my presentation and I really hope that the Catholic Singles received the message about Relationships and the importance of Communication
Its so important to first be comfortable and able to relate to yourself then you can begin the fun of relating to another. I feel that it is so important to express one’s talents and gifts in both their career and in the relationship. It echos who they are and will reduce considerable stress in their lives.
Body language, eye contact, posture and being aware of personal Boundaries is vital to any relationship, especially during the first encounter. Being able to tell the truth to yourself and to others is a virtue to really appreciate as there is so much mistrust in the world. If relationships are to survive, we need to create a safe environment for open and honest discussion. Communication without FEAR ( False Evidence Appearing Real ) is so destructive in relationship communication.
Understanding the Law of Attraction is crucial when someone is out to attract a partner or just a date. We will attract what we think about most and many times our fears and concerns harboured deep in our subconscious minds will attract people and situations that we consciously didn't really want, however the power of the subconscious mind is too great and will bring to us whatever it is that we are dwelling on.
In this world we are beginning to see so much Disconnection and that is having a destructive influence on many types of Relationships, especially intimate ones. If we allow ourselves to express connection we can actually attract more love and harmony in our relationships, business relationships as well as intimate ones.
Learning to laugh and Let Go is an art of being that can lighten up the tension and anxiety of many relationships, laughter is exciting and healing. Humor will always win over in attracting others for relationship that is why I teach it.
My Purpose:
"To inspire others to be all they can be doing what they love" ."Living life to the fullest, balance, relationship, fun & joy" |
