    Wine Appreciation & Bowling

29th Jul Sat Wine Appreciation @ OLPS Parish Hall ========================================= Do you often walk into a supermarket, stare at the vast selection of wines, register a blur and then choose the one with the prettiest labels? Do you register another blank when your friends start talking about the difference between cabernets, merlots, pinots and shirazs? Does all wine taste the same to you cos after five glasses you have lost your short term memory? Do bottles which have cobwebs all around taste the best cos they've been in your mother's kitchen cabinet since you were in your diapers and have had all the time to age like you? If these questions have been bugging you for some time, then you need to hook up with the ten new wine connoisseurs from the catholic singles group that attended a wine appreciation session conducted by wine expert Tony Tan.Tony took pains to explain how each bottle of wine was alive and had a character all its own (no this is not a seventh month joke!). Session joined by Father Greg for 5 min (He give us a bottle of Italian Red Wine!!!) No question was considered silly and the group was amazed at how much there was to know about wines. Topics covered included how to enjoy drinking the wines, how to store them, how they were to be served, and how long they should generally be aged. Several glasses later there were some who didn't spare their blushes at their new found knowledge and alcohol levels. After the engaging session, the group had a dinner (heart shape cake plus wine plus tina / chicken/egg croissant ) in the canteen and were joined briefly by senior catholic single Father Paul Goh. For those who missed the event don't fret cos another wine party is being planned very very soon. So watch this space for more announcements!
